Fantastic repurposing of the building it 's a pleasure just sitting inside. Outside seating available too. The range of food was really good not your usual 'Sydney Rd ' style of Turkish Restaurant. Different but authentic dishes made this a must visit when in the area. Worth a detour when near Colac. Great service and a good choice of wines, including some excellent local ones. We 'll definitely be back. Service: Din... View all feedback.

Back from a few days at home, we found ourselves in Colac on a rainy day, and we stumbled upon this fantastic Turkish restaurant. The food was delicious, fresh, and affordable. The service was both friendly and efficient. We couldn't believe how lucky we were!
I was truly impressed by the meal I had here. The flavors were spot on, and the atmosphere was wonderful. They offered a wide range of gluten-free options on the menu, and when I mentioned that I have celiac disease, the staff ensured that everything was safe for me. If you find yourself in Colac, I highly recommend giving Babil a try.
The food is fantastic, and the portions are generous. It's conveniently located on the way to the Great Ocean Road. The restaurant is also quite spacious.
I just had a great meal in Colac. Turkish food and the beautiful cook was able to completely care for my food intolerances - gluten-free, no onion and no garlic. He was very careful with it. My meal was delicious. He said with a few hours warning, he can make something special in food requirements. That's quite exciting! It's in a beautiful old building, and I can't rave enough over the food!
Really enjoyed our dining experience at Babil restaurant. Was unsure what to order and luckily saw the banquet option which provided a broad sample of many of the dishes. The price was very fair being not much different to ordering a main and entree. The Saganaki and Blue eye were thoroughly enjoyable.
Babil Oddfellows in Colac offers a remarkable dining experience with its innovative Turkish dishes and a charming ambiance. Patrons rave about the extensive menu, featuring unique options like manti, lamb beyti, and succulent seafood. The service, while occasionally inconsistent, is generally friendly and knowledgeable. With plenty of parking and a lovely setting, it’s perfect for both lunch and dinner. Guests appreciate the generous portions, and special dietary needs are accommodated with care. A must-visit for food enthusiasts seeking quality in a welcoming atmosphere.

Stopped in Colac for the night, nice town nothing special until the manager at our motor lodge suggested a Persian restaurant. Out the back and down 2-3 blocks. What a surprise to find “babil”. Met Serdar, the owner and talked Turkish country and food and looked at the menu and WOW. To many good things on the menu and had a late lunch but no way I was walking away. Octopus is a favorite and there it was along with so many dips and breads and just goodness to taste. We had zucchini carrot fritters with dipping yogurt and dips, Beetroot, Babagnosh and Capsicum along with house made bread.. heaven and then, octopus with a spicy rocket, and just great. We’re from California and didn’t expect this level of food here but here it was. Outstanding, come get it. I’m coming back. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I came yesterday. The food was absolutely amazing. It was an explosion of flavours that made me feel great. The portions are also pretty generous as well. Has a large menu so that everyone can get something they like. Especially the turkish bread dipped in beetroot sauce was the best. Also the mains. Ill be coming back in the future for sure!
