If we spend more... read more Scott's barbecue, Cochran, GA. I've eaten more here than any bbq joint. It's a family lover. The bbq is great if you like vinegar-based sauce. If we spend more than 1 day in Cochran on our trips home, Scotts will get a visit. My favorite is when Doug made pork available on Monday and Thursday. Let me tell you about the tea. OMG!!! The sweetest tea in Georgia. The recipe for the Brunswick stew is a bit different than anyone I've found everywhere, which makes it quite clear. In the stew you will find an occasional spaghetti noodles in this rather creamy stew. Doug makes some mighty find ribs also on this open pit joint. The people in Cochran are loyal to not end Scott's BBQ. Really a central Georgia favorite among anyone who ever eat there once.

We used to enjoy the chicken, ribs, and chopped/pulled pork, but recently we have been disappointed. The half BBQ chicken is consistently undercooked, with the skin still soft and stretchy on the outside. The ribs are still good, unless you get the small end of the rack, which is always overcooked and dried out. The chopped pork is still good, but the BBQ sauce can be overly vinegary. Unfortunately, the sides are not impressive - the mac-n-cheese is mushy, the green beans are overcooked, and the banana pudding is mostly vanilla wafers with overripe bananas. Overall, I can only give 2 stars as the food quality has declined in the past year.
