Scott's B-Que

Description

Scott's BBQ in Cochran, GA, has garnered a reputation as a beloved spot for barbecue lovers, boasting tender brisket and unique vinegar-based sauces. Many patrons praise the restaurant's friendly atmosphere and attentive service, creating a welcoming environment. However, recent visits have highlighted a decline in food quality, with undercooked chicken and inconsistent rib preparation receiving criticism. While sides such as mac-n-cheese and green beans often disappoint, the standout brisket and memorable Brunswick stew keep diners returning. With potential talent expansion and improved consistency, Scott's could reclaim its former glory in the competitive BBQ scene.

I left a 4-star review about 8 months ago, but since then, I have ordered takeout from this restaurant several times. We used to enjoy the chicken, ribs, and chopped/pulled pork, but recently we have been disappointed. The half BBQ chicken is consistently undercooked, with the skin still soft and stretchy on the outside. The ribs are still good, unless you get the small end of the rack, which is always overcooked and dried out. The chopped pork is still good, but the BBQ sauce can be overly vinegary. Unfortunately, the sides are not impressive - the mac-n-cheese is mushy, the green beans are overcooked, and the banana pudding is mostly vanilla wafers with overripe bananas. Overall, I can only give 2 stars as the food quality has declined in the past year.

This restaurant used to be great! They had delicious cheeseburgers and barbecue. However, things have changed. The taste and quality of the food have been lacking for over 8 years now.

I just moved to the Mid South GA area from TN (world's best BBQ, imo and have had one heck of a time finding anywhere that anyone would dare recommend to me for good bbq besides Buc-ee's. Finally a co-worker piped up about Scott's. It took me a few weeks but we just stopped in for lunch and wow. This is the best bbq I've had since moving to Georgia. Hands down the best brisket I've had in years. My fiancé got the pulled pork sandwich, it was also excellent. Sweet sauce is perfect. Plenty of sides and desserts to choose from, and tea sweetened to perfection, no sugar overload here. Scott's bbq is a simple, small town bbq restaurant in all the best ways. Friendly service, more than fair prices (I tipped large as I felt they undercut themselves! and large portions. Cochran has a true gem here and I'm so glad we tried it, and only wish we had been recommended to it sooner. Run, don't walk to Scott's, your tastebuds will thank you!

The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the atmosphere can sometimes feel exclusive and unwelcoming to certain guests. The parking situation also makes me nervous.

Ribs are great. So was the Brunswick stew. Friendly service and clean restaurant. My favorite item on the menu is the brisket. Absolutely the best brisket I've ever had.
