Nice castle but our tour guide could have done a better job. The information was quite interesting but the tour was a bit too formal.

Cochem, the beautiful wine village on the Moselle, can be reached from the Moselle towards Koblenz or Trier or via the A 48 motorway. Also from the Eifel and Hunsrück there are many ways down the mountain to Cochem. There are more ways to park, the cheapest is near the train station. Through the narrow Rigs, best on the way over the “Tummelchen” with its old sugar tower, which served to guard the city border in the middle, it goes up to the castle. The Reichsburg Cochem is more than a castle. She is the largest castle in the Mosel. The strenuous steep path up compensated with a beautiful view of the Moseltal and Cochem. High above Cochem on the Mosel rises on a mighty rock, the Reichsburg with kernels and tins, the largest stronghold on the Mosel.
