My first review was 3 years ago. It is still my go-to place for sushi/sashimi and excellent service. (9/6/2024) I've added a new photo. This is my all time favorite place to eat now. If given a choice of anywhere to go, I pick Taizzi. The food is presented beautifully. The quality is above reproach. They do not bog you down with a lot of rice. The service is great as well. They do excellent take out, everything is packaged well and presentation is still nice. Shown are the Screaming O plate with hand, Able (cucumber wrapped), Final Destination (shows a variety of fish), Peppered Tuna, Loco Moco/LocoMex (jalepenos), Volcano (wrapped in tinfoil) Final Destination on same plate), Sashimi salad (red bowl) was absolutely amazing!! The picture with the round platter shows a variety and the round platter was a to-go order. They opened another location at Memorial and Kirkwood (Fall 2021). We are super excited. A new location is coming Fall 2024 on the Northwest Freeway!
I love eating sushi at this place. The owner and Susan are very friendly Thank you!!!
I'm not too sure how there are so many positive reviews for this restaurant. Our experience at Taizzi was quite disappointing. Upon arriving, we were told that there were no clean tables. We had to stand for almost 5 min before being able to grab a seat. Mind you, the restaurant wasn't even full at the time. We ordered the Create your Bento Box which includes seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, spicy tunal roll, rice, and pork katsu. Everything was just average. The biggest disappointment was the pork katsu being incredibly dry. We also ordered the Pink Lady Roll which was just okay. The fish was a little on the mushy side. Service was lackluster. No one really checked on us throughout our time there. One of our party ordered the AYCE and the server basically yelled at us that sharing is forbidden since everyone else ordered a la carte. We did not plan on sharing food anyway. This made the whole dining experience very awkward. We've had MUCH BETTER Japanese cuisine here in Katy. Given the poor customer service and mediocre food, we will definitely not be coming back.
