We take a caesar salad (13 €) and a tuna tartar (15 €). The tuna tartar is very disappointing, no taste, small portion ... and a very complicated digestion. any caesar salad with sliced chicken . we expected, given the limited card, to good fresh products ..... it is far from being the case. The only positive point the black beer pressure very good!

The finished... read more Here for a plat du jour Saturday lunchtime. A shame that the sauce surrounding the tasty rabbit was cold. I asked them to reheat it which they did. The finished result, however, had gone to the other extreme of heat and this also meant that the timbale of rice had collapsed into a stodgy mess. Not a big deal in the great scheme of things but disappointing all the same. A 50cl pichet of wine over-priced but, as this is Cluny and so touristy, I suspect that their price is the going rate.

Not even a good coffee to forgive the rest. And poor welcome thanks fully the young serveuse was smiling.

So on a cold Friday morning in mid December we wandered r... read more Although we know Cluny pretty well from visits to the market on Saturday morning, we rarely eat there. So on a cold Friday morning in mid December we wandered round the town comparing menus, and Le Cloitre appealed most. We had the menu du jour at 17€ a choice of two dishes for each of the three courses. The food was tasty, and the service good. However the ambience was poor there is a largish restaurant area beyond the bar and we were the only couple for most of our meal, with another couple coming in later. Two tables in the bar area were also occupied presumably by more regular customers. If numbers are likely to be limited I wish they'd ensure everyone sat in the same bit we'd have happily eaten in the bar area. Despite that we liked the place, and may well go there again.
