Reviews summary
Nestled in Old Town, this restaurant offers a diverse menu that showcases the potential for excellent culinary experiences. Diners rave about dishes like the Local Burger and expertly prepared pasta; however, inconsistencies mar the experience. Slow service and overlooked dietary restrictions raise concerns, while various patrons express disappointment over the presence of hair in appetizers and unprofessional server attire. Despite these setbacks, the inviting atmosphere and quality ingredients have garnered positive feedback from many, suggesting that with improvements in service and attention to detail, this spot could truly shine as a culinary gem.

What Scott Piggott dislikes about The Local:
The food at this restaurant was excellent, however, the service was slow in delivering all 8 dinners. There was a hair found in the green bean appetizer. In addition, we were seated at a table that was only meant for 8 people, not a special set up, and we were charged a 20% Large Party fee despite it being a single-piece table. This was very disappointing and seemed unreasonable. View all feedback.

We came here to celebrate a co-workers birthday. The atmosphere was amazing, beautiful set up, friendly staff, good music. They were able to adjust our time for a larger group, which was appreciated. We were greeted on arrival. The food was good, with a variety of items. The eggs, even with cheese, were a little bland, and the french toast in areas was hard. They had plenty of fruit and vegetables to choose from. Overall, it was a decent buffet. Some in our group ordered the bottomless mimosa option, and after their 2nd fill, the wait staff didn't come around for a while, but in fairness, the restaurant crowd had grown significantly. I can see myself returning, possibly with the family. I would also recommend it.
First time there. Was very impressed with my menu choices, very delicious, my wife ditto .they have a pretty good craft beer selection also. Will definitely be back.Parking: Depending on time of day you may have to walk a little ways but worthwhile.
We randomly decided to visit this restaurant and both found a few dishes that caught our eye. We were very pleased with everything we ordered. The fries were deliciously seasoned and had a satisfying crunch. The restaurant offers a modern American cuisine that was executed very well. Highly recommend!
Pretty good food. Not crazy about the charcuterie board more like a plate, nothing special. Good steak and chicken! Nice drinks. A little spendy.

I had to make a trip to my hometown in Clovis on very short notice and decided to try a restaurant out that I’ve not yet tried. I must say that I was impressed! I ordered The Local Burger and to say it was delicious is an understatement!! Each bite of this burger was incredibly juicy and flavorful! What juices that didn’t go into my mouth went onto my plate. Instead of fries I upgraded to their Mac and cheese; and oh wow was this so good. My mouth salivated with each cheesy bite! I had an orange wheat Pilsner Beer . I highly recommend coming here. Remember, preparing really good food takes time.
Stopped by to get dinner and we are glad we did. The tempura fried green beans are made in a wonderful batter and salted just right. The Pesto Linguini (we added chicken) melted in your mouth, all the food came out hot. The garlic bread was so good! The server and bus boy were welcoming and to top it off the whether was perfect so we ate outside.
Small local place with upscale menu items. I had the skirt steak with cucumber salad and cilantro lime rice. Great flavors and quality ingredients. Four of us met for an early dinner and all liked what they ordered. I would have given 5 stars, but the table service was a little slow. Although our server was great, just didn't see her as timely as I believe we should have. Only other knock was the volume got somewhat loud as they got busy. Adding some sound deadening material to the decor would help. I will go again.
Atmosphere is chill, nice little spot to get a drink. I didn’t really try the food. I did have pita bread and humus. The pita bread was soft, so good, addicting. Humus has a nice flavor. This lemon meringue beer pictured was amazing, sour tart. Service was great, the waitress was running the place by herself in the afternoon and checked on my table plenty. Will return to try out the food.
So yummy. Quick lunch service, and everything was hot and delicious. A lot of good options but not overwhelming. Prices extremely reasonable. The atmosphere for lunch was nice, quiet, and laid back. A great spot to hangout, eat and chat. The inside is nicley decorated with a smaller outside patio as well. The waitress was very polite and attentive. I was very happy with my experience and highly recommend.
