Papa's Place in Clovis offers a mixed dining experience. While the atmosphere is cozy with friendly staff and delicious food, some customers noted issues such as cheap liquor in drinks, so-so appetizers, and odd hostess behavior. Live music adds to the ambiance, making it a great spot for a fun night out. The restaurant may have a slightly dated feel, but the warmth of the staff and tasty menu items make up for any shortcomings. Overall, Papa's Place is a nice spot for a relaxed meal with friends or a cozy night out.

What Luis Solis dislikes about Papa's Place:
Just tried going, something seemed a little off. We went in to be seated and, even though there was a table available to our left as we entered, having no reserved table sign, the hostess said there were no tables available. Plus, there were tables available outside. When my wife asked how long of a wait to be seated at a table, the hostess said she didn't know. Very odd. We left, since it seemed they were OK without... The fish and chips at this restaurant are the best in town! They are never greasy and the fries are perfectly crispy.
The fish and chips were undercooked and the shrimp po'boy was just okay.
Pros: great location, friendly staff, decently timed service. Cons: our server seemed like they hadn’t tried anything, when asked if they enjoyed a certain drink or dish we got a lot of “I haven’t tried that one yet but it looks good and others seem to enjoy it” to everything we inquired about. Our drinks definitely had cheeeap liquor in them. I got their tequila sangria and was extremely disappointed in the taste. Tequila had that cheap bite to it, and it basically had a wine floater so it wasn’t really a sangria at all more like a juicy cocktail with a wine floater. My husbands drink wasn’t any better. We ordered the pretzel and cheese dip for an app and the cheese was good but not spectacular. The pretzel wasn’t bad but the texture of it was like it was heated up in a microwave very chewy. We had the intention of having dinner and everything there, but ended up leaving and going elsewhere because we felt like any other food and drink wouldn’t be good and worth the cost. Each drink and app was at or above $15 and if we would’ve know our drinks were priced that high, we would’ve sent them back. But staff was attentive and friendly. The vibe isn’t bad but definitely not what we were expecting. The restaurant feels dated and oddly laid out too, but it is clean.
The Bourbon Bread Pudding was amazing.
Can you say yummm! You certainly can’t say no to deep fried fresh strawberries! Or maybe the bread pudding?A big yes to Maple pecan cheese cake!
