We sat at a... read more A few friends and I went to Mezè on a beautiful DC evening to celebrate a special event. The engaging manager Mahir welcomed us and got us settled. We sat at a table on the cusp between the lovely patio and the cozy interior. The lively but unobtrusive pop music washed over us, transporting us to Istanbul. Hasan, elegant and also warm, recommended some dishes accommodating vegetarians and carnivores alike. A couple of us had Mezè’s signature mojitos while I had a fine Turkish white wine. A highlight of the evening was the selection of well presented and fresh cheeses, a hit with all. Among the fine items we ordered were mucver, quinoa köfte, and a simple bronzino. Throughout, Hasan stopped by to make sure that we were happy with our orders, which we certainly were. Hasan’s attention to detail and guests was outstanding, something that is too rare in the DC food scene. Finally we had a flavorful kunefe with complimentary port, a fine combination. Our party had a marvelous time. Thank you, Mezè!

We got the chicken dip, hummus,... read more We had absolutely amazing food at this restaurant. Absolutely loved everything we tried, but the appetizer dips stole the show! We got the chicken dip, hummus, and the red pepper dip! Initially we were concerned about the service- the waiter who firstaddressed us seemed to have completely forgotten that we existed. Thankfully another waiter noticed we'd been stranded and wentabove and beyond to make the rest of our visit extraordinary!
