I can't imagine it when the ro... read more We stopped by here passing through to Ruidoso. The restaurant is conveniently located along the main road, but parking is tricky. I can't imagine it when the road is covered in snow. The food was decent, nothing overwhelming. Bathroom was clean.

This diner’s food choices brings your favorite home cooked meals right to your table (including desserts The staff serves up the food with a nice southern comfort that feels close to home. It’s not just the food but the prices too! Very reasonable. An absolute hidden gem, not just for the quality of the food but the people too. My husband and I weren’t able to visit family for Easter and let’s just say that diner was our remedy.

Thankfully, the kind waitress was quick to remedy the... read more However, we realized we had made a mistake by ordering a cheeseburger, forgetting that we are vegetarians. Thankfully, the kind waitress was quick to remedy the situation by swapping it for a delicious grilled cheese, which she even covered herself. We also enjoyed their quesadillas and sandwiches, all of which were excellent. To top off our meal, we indulged in the Heavenly Chocolate Cake (which I’ve included a picture of)—it truly lived up to its name—and the peach pie, which was equally delightful. I would highly recommend this diner to anyone visiting or passing through Cloudcroft!

The wait didn't feel that long, mostly because the soup and appetizers came out quickly. The chips and queso, onion rings, and cheese curds were excellent, as was the green chile soup. Very attentive, courteous staff and easy family-going atmosphere. My husband loved his chicken fried steak, fried okra, and mac n cheese. Very generous portions, so we have dinner tonight, too! We got a banana pudding to go that I'm sure will be delicious. Highly recommend Big Daddy's Diner!

The staff was incredibly friendly and engaging, which I really appreciated. I love that they take the time to connect with customers and learn about them. While some may not enjoy chatting with strangers, I believe that if you converse long enough, you'll often find common ground—and we certainly did. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast, and I can only assume that their lunch and dinner menus are just as impressive.

The syrup container was hard to pour from; when I took off the cap, it was crusty and looked unappealing. It seemed like the cap had just been put back on without being cleaned for the next customer. On a positive note, the service was good, and the rest of the food was tasty, but the hash browns were definitely a letdown.

On the positive side, our server was outstanding and very friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. Ultimately, the restaurant didn’t justify the cost due to the unsatisfactory taste of the food.
