Was Ray Gray at Higher Buck a mag?
we had lunch on Saturday afternoon, I have to say it was really good. the eating was excellent, my only grip was the spring green had garlic in them and it was not after my taste, would only have preferred smooth butter greens. the queenie scallops and the suppe were delicious. I had the wild boar pudding, the wild boar was so soft, amazing. all puddings were once again excellent. service was fantastic, very attentiv... View all feedback.

Incredibly acquitted and eating was wonderful. the products were so fresh and so delicious!
I love this place absolutely. dog-friendly. if they are looking for cheap, do not stop filling mediocre food, but if they want top notch, excellent pub food this is the place. the wild garlic and mushroom chicken is the most tender, dampest chicken I had for years. so delicious.
Excellent pub, very friendly and courteous staff and eating a cut above their usual pub evening. I had the haddock with crimped crust, my wife sea trout. both came sharp, the haddock perfectly cooked and the comminuted new kartoffels and sparing and saphir loving to accompany it, the sea trout of my wife was served with asparagus and jersey royals. fresh food well cooked and good prices for this level of cooking. the fact that it was fully booked on Wednesday night speaks about it. well done!
Absolutely fantastic eating! the staff are always very friendly, have not 2 wait 2 long for their meal. the quality of food is excellent. not cheap place 2 dine out, but it is worth paying each penny u....seriously, give it a go....u will not be disappointed!

Definitely worth a visit, we went in Tues at lunchtime and it was busy so maybe book a table? . The main menu was the same as online, quite a few specials though even some of those were finished and quite busy in the pub. You can also do sandwiches if you don't want full meals. Anyway..cheese souffle (light as a feather) I thought I could have had bread to soak it up but on reflection it didn't need it, then pork belly from the specials v good and we shared an apple tart tatin excellent. My husband had king prawn bhaji (not many prawns but lively), roast chicken lovely. We both a small white wine and a cappuccino £93.40 without a tip.. Staff friendly and attentive .
I went out for lunch here after I heard it was good. Went with me and two other family members and it was incredible. I had the steak and it was possibly the greatest I’ve ever had. The staff couldn’t have been better overall just a brilliant experience. Would highly recommend
Absolutely 5* food service. All meals where tasty presented well. Service was helpful friendly. Highly recommended
During our journey from Scotland to Wales, we made a planned stop in Waddington for lunch. We had made a reservation based on the positive reviews we had read, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant was busy even on a weekday at lunchtime, so we were glad we had reserved a table. The staff were friendly and efficient, the decor was warm and welcoming, and the toilets were clean. Our family of four, including two teenagers, all enjoyed our meals. We had a variety of options from the menu, including classic dishes like burgers and steak, as well as specials like scallops and pork belly. I ordered a delicious goats cheese and beetroot salad with walnuts for my main course, which was large and flavorful. The cheese soufflé starter was also a hit, being both cheesy and light. To finish off my meal, I had an excellent earl grey and lemon panna cotta. The extensive menu could be a risk for a smaller restaurant, but we did not find the quality or service lacking at all. Overall, we had a great dining experience with delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and friendly service. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.
This place is well worth the 100 miles round trip. The pork hot pot today was amazing, nothing like what you would imagine it to be, it was stunning. The wonderful chocolate bar (my favourite dessert from anywhere) was just gorgeous. I just wish they would open somewhere near us. I also have to mention the lovely young gentleman who is so professional and a really nice person, who makes everything special.
