Description
Visiting this restaurant can be an uneasy experience, as patrons often feel closely monitored by staff, particularly the elderly owner. Initial interactions can be off-putting, leading to a sense of unwelcome. Additionally, logistical issues such as malfunctioning ATM services push visitors to seek alternatives for their meals; one such option nearby offers enjoyable food and friendly service. Although the establishment maintains nice facilities, inconsistent staff attitudes may leave customers feeling overlooked. Overall, while the setting has potential, improvements in hospitality and operational efficiency are necessary for a more inviting atmosphere.
Feedback
Be aware that, regardless of who you are, you'll immediately be viewed with suspicion when you visit this restaurant. The elderly owner or employee will trail you throughout the establishment until you leave! To make your experience more comfortable, it's best to declare your friendly intentions as soon as you walk in.
The restaurant has been beautifully renovated and has a fresh new vibe that most locals are likely aware of. However, I can't be the only one who's noticed a decline in service. Last month, I stood at the counter for seven minutes waiting for an employee to help me while I was at the front of the line. We could hear the staff chatting amongst themselves, and even called out several times without getting a response. Just tonight, the woman at the counter stared at me but refused to open the door or serve me from the window, despite the fact that I visit regularly. It's really disappointing to have such a negative experience when I'm a frequent customer.
We planned to stop for lunch and withdraw some cash, but their eftpos and ATM were not working. Instead, we headed to the PUMA Service Station just outside Mt. Larcom, further up the road. There, we experienced excellent service, delicious food, and great facilities.
