Although we had been promised a banquet room, we were instead given f... read more I visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait for our party to arrive. Although we had been promised a banquet room, we were instead given four booths for 22 people. It took an hour for our appetizers to arrive, and then another 40 minutes for our main meals. We were only allowed a total of two hours for our reservation and were asked to leave before we could finish our food or enjoy the cake. It was a memorable experience for my mother’s 90th birthday. The server was wonderful and was visibly emotional as we departed. After spending hundreds of dollars, we won’t be returning. Be on the lookout for the very small sign indicating the two-hour limit.

When dining with a big group, it naturally takes longer to prepare and serve all the meals, so imposing a two-hour limit from the moment the party arrives isn't ideal. It felt quite rude when our server approached the table while we were still eating and informed us we had only ten minutes left before we needed to leave. A fairer approach might be to start the time limit from when the food is served instead. The overall service could also be improved, as there were delays in placing our meals on the table. This policy definitely needs to change.

Saturday, August 24th, 2024 my family and I chose the Bierhaus to celebrate my grandma 's 90th birthday. We called a month before asking if we could make a reservation or reserve the party room. They let us know they didn 't take reservations and that the party room may be a little small for our party of 19 with 3 kids as well. They said they would have no problem if we showed up the day of and they could push tables together for us to sit at. I called the day of to let them know we 'd be coming in about an hour to give the servers a heads up. They ended up giving us 4 separate booths by each other which wasn 't ideal but we made it work and we were very thankful for everything they were doing for us! We ordered a few appetizers and drinks as the rest of the family showed up. We put in our food order and everything came out amazing. Our server was great! After we eat, we were cutting my grandma 's birthday cake and our server came up and said you all have 10 minutes to leave as there is a 2 hour maximum per table. Out of all the interactions, NOBODY told us about this maximum time rule so we had to pack up everything quickly and get out of there. People were still eating, and ordering drinks but that didn 't matter. On our way out we saw a tiny sign that said 2 hours maximum by the servers station. The way my grandma was rushed out of there on her birthday was completely unacceptable. Had we known before, we would have respected the time slot. Bierhaus, do better with your communication to customers and customer service. Out of all 19 of us, I can PROMISE not one of us will be back and I will continue to let people know of our experience.
