What Dale Boudreaux doesn't like about Delta Meat Market:
Two stars for convenience alone. Most of the food was cold. I've worked in hotels before and this is the same bagged food that most places use. The restaurant looks like it would be upscale, but the food is standard hotel fare. The coffee had lots ofgrounds in it. The attendant said he didn't have any help that morning and that he really didn't know what he was doing. The BarFontaine, on the other hand, was great! Th... View all feedback.
Really nice, relaxing atmosphere! I ordered the Ribeye and it didn’t disappoint! Will come back to eat here to eat next time I’m in town.
Great value for some really good food. Great wait staff.
I travel for work, and I have had many, many good meals. I’m very fortunate in fact to have tried as many different things in different places as I have. So when I say that the DMM burger was on point, it would be an understatement. Garden tomatoes (it’s a big deal if you know the difference or have a farm like I do sweet bun, perfect beef, etc. Highly recommended by your traveling foodie :
We had dinner here last Saturday night. It was outstanding. I had the flat iron steak. It was the most flavorful steak I have ever had. It was served on top of grits with grilled veggies. It was so dang good, I?ll make the 5 hour drive back to Clevelandjust for this place! My wife had red snapper...served on a medley of veggies that I had no idea went with fish! It wasphenomenal. It?s a casual, but beautiful place. Great, friendly southern hospitality! We will be back! And the moonpie breadpudding was incredible! Sorry...it was the only photo I thought to take...everything was so damned good!
Original Review: The Delta Meat Market was a delightful surprise. It’s situated in the hotel where we were staying (The Cotton House). We dined there for dinner, and the service was excellent. The chef is a James Beard Award nominee, which speaks volumes. I can’t recall the name of my cocktail, but it was essentially a Cosmopolitan topped with bubbly (either Prosecco or Champagne). The first one was great, but the second didn’t taste the same since the bartender forgot the bubbly. Our server was quick to fix the issue, which was much appreciated. My dining partner and I shared the Burrata as an appetizer—it was unique and tasty! For my entrée, I ordered the scallops and spinach salad. The scallops were cooked perfectly (a challenging feat), but the spinach salad was lacking. I’ve had better versions and can whip up a superior one at home. The presentation was underwhelming, and the hot bacon vinaigrette tasted just like plain bacon grease. Again, I can make a better vinaigrette myself, which was disappointing. My companion had the grilled pork chop, which was tender and full of flavor. We finished with the moon pie bread pudding for dessert. While it didn’t actually taste like a moon pie, it was a rich and delicious treat. Although there are aspects that could use improvement, I would certainly consider returning.
