Mississippi Grounds - Cleveland

I recently had the best sausage gravy and biscuit at this restaurant. The ownership is great and it is locally owned.

After returning to MS Grounds after a few years, I was excited to have my favorite sandwich and side. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and I will not be returning. The side I wanted was already sold out by 11:20am, and they only had wheat berry bread left. When I received my sandwich, it was covered in ash and soot, making it practically inedible. When I asked for a refund, the staff member was rude and reluctant to give me my money back. The second sandwich was just as bad, but I decided to take it and leave. The state of the grill equipment outside suggested a lack of cleanliness, which was concerning. It's possible that this is why the restaurant was not busy during lunchtime. Additionally, my husband's latte was over-steamed and not enjoyable, and my iced latte tasted stale. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I would not recommend dining at MS Grounds.

I have actually been to this restaurant before several years ago and had a good experience. Recently, I stopped by with a friend to grab a vanilla latte to go. Unfortunately, when I got in the car and tried it, it was mostly just vanilla milk without the shot of espresso. It was also quite watery. We might give this place another try if we happen to pass through again, but overall it was a bit disappointing. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

Overpriced for the portion size. $12 for a small sandwich is unreasonable. The service is quick, and the indoor seating is comfortable when it's not too busy.
