5 stars for the building and the view. The house is amazing and it is a great place to see the river with a great view of Louisville. Three stars for the ice. The strawberry Sunday uses gelatin strawberry goo instead of real strawberries and they were a bit too stingy with the nuts. It was a woman show when we went, and I thought she did a great job, but it did things a little slower. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Widow's Walk Ice Creamery:
It was okay. It was NOT very crowded (maybe 3 people before us), but it was a plush waiting after we ordered to get our ice cream. About 15 minutes is too long, especially with a 6 years old a 2 years old! Prices are not as high as most places. Service was ok nothing special, not rude, but not friendly. Ice was nothing special. Negative attitudes. Customers are not your adversaries; it's unreasonable to be upset when you get an order wrong.
The ice cream was delicious and the scenery was lovely. The person taking my order was very sweet, but unfortunately, the owner and another staff member were quite rude. I ordered a small sundae with just whipped cream and nuts, and I confirmed my order three times with the person taking it. However, when I received my sundae, there was nothing on it. I politely asked for the whipped cream, and the staff member responded, “Oh, well, you said you didn’t want any.” I calmly explained again that I had asked for it multiple times. Since it was my first visit and I had heard great things about the place, I tried to remain polite—I definitely wasn’t trying to be rude. However, she accused me of being rude, which could have just been a miscommunication. Unfortunately, it left a negative impression on my first visit.
Fantastic spot to enjoy some ice cream while taking in the views of the Louisville skyline!
Excellent Banana Split! Could have used more shady places to sit and enjoy the dessert and views.
Love this place! Great ice cream and terrific river view.
