It’s not every day that you visit a restaurant and feel as though you’ve stepped back in time. The aromas of homemade dishes instantly transported me to my grandmother's kitchen. The classic tunes playing in the background, combined with soul food favorites like greens, black-eyed peas, liver and onions, and neck bones, were just what I had hoped for! I was welcomed with a warm smile, and that friendly atmosphere continued throughout my visit. The food was served hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious! If you’re in the mood for a hearty plate of comfort food, make sure to stop by Exit 40 Cafe!
I frequent this restaurant about a dozen times, and I've consistently enjoyed the food each visit. Everything is always very good and reliable. I even grew to love liver and onions, something I never thought I'd enjoy! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the portion sizes are generous.
This is the best soul food restaurant on the east side! I had the liver and onions with collard greens and yams, and everything was absolutely delicious. The owner was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean, filled with the wonderful aroma of homemade dishes.
This is the best place I've been through for a long time. Very consistent delicious food with great service and free parking!
Very good soul food.. my favorite baked spaghetti when they have it very clean and nice service as well!!
