Batesville General - Clarkesville
Batesville General
Description
Tucked away on a side street in the Georgia mountains, this cozy, off-the-beaten-path café delights with friendly service, homestyle breakfast and lunch, standout burgers, French toast and old-fashioned milkshakes served in real glasses. Nicely decorated with local art for sale and pet-friendly indoor/outdoor seating, it’s great value for relaxed meals and visitors exploring Burton. Note the small kitchen can mean long waits for large groups and restroom availability may be limited.

The waitstaff was excellent—patient and friendly, even with our large group. However, the restaurant has a small grill, which isn’t ideal for accommodating a group of 15 quickly. Our food took almost two hours to arrive. Despite that, we enjoyed our time there since we weren’t in a hurry. But if you’re looking for a place that can seat a large group and serve them quickly, this may not be the best choice. The seating areas, both indoors and outdoors, are pet-friendly. However, I noticed that the women's restroom was out of order, so everyone had to use the men's room instead.
What a true gem we discovered! This charming little restaurant serves incredible food. The French toast is to die for! The interior is lovely, adorned with local art available for purchase. The staff was so welcoming and friendly that we didn't want to leave. You definitely won't be disappointed!
This cozy little café on a side street offers breakfast and lunch options. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches are fresh and delicious, and the decor is nicely done. I highly recommend stopping by when you're in the area!
We pass this restaurant every time we go to Burton and never stopped. I'm so glad we are today! Food was excellent and the service was great! Will definitely stop. Also....for the honey mustard! It's phenomenal!
