In Hobart for work without a car and staying nearby - this place is in a lovely location, right on the beach. I was lucky enough to be able to walk in a grab a table, otherwise I would have eaten overlooking the beach - its more of a takeaway and tables are cramped. Service ok. Pizza eaten in was fresh and tasty - I had a small tandoori chicken, too much for one person. They don't open until late afternoon. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sandy Bay Woodfired Pizza:
Absolutely disgusting service! Walk in just after 7pm on a night you say you are open until 9pm only to be told you aren't taking any orders because you are 'too busy' and you might not have enough ingredients to make me a pizza and to come back in an hour! What a joke! We have been many times when you have been alot busier and never turned away. You have lost some valued customers and I will be telling all my friend... View all feedback.
It used to be a great place. It seems to have changed hands. Now very average pizza. Slow uninterested service. Maybe the new group needs to settle.
We had the special pizza Tims with spinach, musk, capsicum, sun-dried tomatoes, onions and anchovies etc. It was a masterpiece; many ingredients and pollinating with taste. 9/10 The green salad had carvings of salad with balsamicum. Crunch factor high. Coffee was the right temperature with excellent...fine and taste. Not licensed, but bottle shop is only on the street. A hard-working family team that produces really pleasant food. !
We were on an evening walk along the coast of Hobart CBD and came across this pizza place so decided to go there as it was quite busy with people who move in and out for outliers. We sat inside, the staff was pretty friendly, but they were busy in the kitchen. We helped to water and sat in the window, beautiful place right on the beach. The pizza itself was really disappointing. We ordered one with mushrooms on it and the mushrooms were super watery that was through the base, which was really soggy, we could only eat the outside edge of the pizza. We had to leave half of it and couldn't get any attention from the kitchen to let them know. Would not return if there are so many fabulous esseries in Hobart.
Our family randomly chose this pizza bar at our first night in Hobart and found that the pizza base was the best we ever had! The crust was thin and perfectly cooked. We originally ordered a Chees pizza for our Fussy daughter, who arrived like ordered with cheese, and nothing else. After informing the cook that she would like to add a tomato paste for the taste, they immediately made a fresh pizza free. After dinner we went for a walk along the river promenade a perfect end to our first day of a magical holiday, and we have another 3 times during our 10 night stay at Sandy Bay Woodfired Pizza Bar. Very recommended.
A beautiful location on the beach in Sandy Bay, the service was quick and friendly and the pizzas were great. Gluten free based were very good. A limited number of Valhalla ice cream flavours are available including the classic chocolate and vanilla as is coffee...and some soft drink options. Well be back.
