The food is good, especially the Tangine. We had the chicken tangine with raisins and onions. Good break from heavy French food.

It is deceiving, in that the fr... read more We were shopping in Clamecy and looking for somewhere to have lunch. My partner loves couscous, and so we walked into Marrakech. It is deceiving, in that the front is tiny but inside it is cavernous. Despite the size, it was 2/3 full and, therefore, we had high hopes. We ordered the couscous of the house (Large meat ball, chicken thigh and leg and merguez sausage) and a bottle of Morrocan Rose. The wine arrived immediately and, as we still had not been served 30 minutes later, it was half gone before we started to eat. There is no need to have to wait 30 minutes for a couscous because most of the work is done in the preparation before the restaurant opens. As mentioned in the heading, the heart of a good couscous is in the sauce. Unfortunately, this sauce was far too thin and it was lacking in flavour.. To make things worse, the chicken was dry and the merguez was so under-cooked that it had to be sent back. However, the meatball was quite good and the couscous was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately, someone on the next table could be heard to complain that the Tagine also lacked flavour. Bearing in mind the extraordinarily slow service and the lack of flavour in the food, it was a disappointing lunch.
