the ship and shovell is quite simply my favorite spot in london. only the bier selection is great - they have badger (of which I am a fan). Secondly, they have canada dry, which is great. I am a marine historian and I love that it is named for cloudesley shovell, from the time I study. I love it in two halves, I love how cozy it is. don't love how it's crowded, but it's great. What ondrakozubek doesn't like about Ship Shovell:
Went for a pint along London trip. Find this pub by accident when looking for public toilets. Beer on tap “Badger” is OK, but had better. Not tried the kitchen. View all feedback.

Large londoner pub two for the price of one, this pub is divided by craven’s passage, so they must choose which part of the pub they go. this is a quintial British pub in terms of decor, style, ales and ambiente. eating is pub dug and beer is hall and woodhouse badger ales not bad, ideal for taking Americans to the london traditional london pub vibe.
Charming pub (or pubs? within walking distance of Trafalgar Square. Stopped in for a quick couple pints and wasn't disappointed. Exactly what a London pub should be.
The two parts of the pub are only linked by a tunnel underground which also houses the kitchen and cellar this may be unique! Both sides of the pub are entirely different inside one is a more traditional victorian pub whilst the other looks much older with its panelled wals and little snugs. This chain of pubs has its very own range of Badger Beers which are only sold in Hall Woodhouse pubs, wich I enjoyed. Hot meals of classic pub food, smaller dishes and sandwiches are available at lunchtime and cold bar snacks in the evening when the main menu is not served. The lunchtime food offering includes Sunday roasts. We really loved the atmosphere of both pubs and being able to stand and drink in the street between them.
Used to drink in here allot back in the day. So thoroughly enjoyed revisiting seeing things were still very similar. Still a great pub in an interesting location. Staff were cheerful chatty able to hold a conversation. Beer was spot on prices weren’t as ridiculous as you see in other venues close by.
