I've just had a wonderful lunch here. Im a Pimlico local resident (7 years) and I can highly recommend this restaurant. I have read the other reviews and am surprised to read the comments left and do not think they truly represent this restaurant in any way! Seriously! I ordered the Serrano Ham , and an Artichoke salad, also had two glasses (yes two It was that good), of the most delicious red wine (fresh- even by th... View all feedback.
What Christian Butler doesn't like about Art Of Tapas:
it is an absolutely disgusting place! I wouldn't recommend to anyone, not even my worst enemy to go there. the only reason why the place is survived because it is completely wasteful and preheated food to customers and calculate them for it. the owners say. it is about the place, a man with a pony tail always smoke outside, smells very bad and constantly screaming and harassing customers, and a woman who also stinks.... I had lunch yesterday and returned today before heading to Scotland. The sangria at this restaurant is the best I have ever had in my life, and I am 56 years old. I have been to Spain many times and have tried hundreds of sangrias, but none compare to this one. It is not too sweet, rich, and has a wonderful aftertaste. I also had the seafood paella, which was delicious. The restaurant has a beautiful Spanish decor and a great atmosphere. The service was good as well. I highly recommend this place.
I recently had a fantastic lunch at this restaurant in Pimlico. Having been a local for 7 years, I can confidently recommend this place. After reading some other reviews, I was surprised by the negative comments as my experience was nothing but positive. I enjoyed some serrano ham and an artichoke salad, along with two glasses of delicious red wine (I wanted a bottle but was dining solo), followed by a coffee and sparkling water. The service was excellent, with attentive and friendly staff who were well-presented. The location is perfect, with the sunlight hitting the restaurant directly in the afternoon, creating a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. It's rare to find a spot in Pimlico where you can enjoy the sun directly, so sun worshippers take note! I plan to visit this place often with my dog and support it as much as I can. I am looking forward to returning with my Spanish friends in London. Overall, a beautiful experience and I can't wait for my next visit. Viva Spain! Enjoy.
I had a delicious cortado coffee in a charming environment. The biscuit tasted fresh and delightful. Although the shop also offers a tapas menu, I felt it was too early at 9:00 AM to indulge in Spanish meats.
I only hope that if this place is busy (which I am sure it will) that they can continue to supply food and service to the level I have experienced at my first visit. I also liked that when I asked for a glass of water, I got a big hot water.
I was wandering through Tachbrook Street on a non market day, so it was pretty empty and I spotted Art of Tapas with its Miro inspired signage. There were only two customers sitting by the counter, so after checking the menu a few times I thought yeah, I 'll give it a try. The place has several arty touches the specially designed kind of perching table outside with glass holders, the really cute hug me cushion, and as an extra bonus (which I am afraid could not be guaranteed on any other visit) one of the customers who was obviously a professional opera singer giving an informal audition to his companion a stunning rendition of ava maria. Off course I wasn 't there for the bonus entertainment, I wanted to try the food. All the arty touches in the world would be not make me want to return to any restaurant. However I will most definitely return to Art of Tapas, the food was very good. I ordered a Spanish Omelette and a dish of Octopus legs, Chorizo and warm white bean salad. The omelette was tasty, light and fluffy, served with what at first seemed to be a bit too much lettuce and mayo. However the lettuce was so fresh, I actually cleaned my plate. The Octopus dish was also good, the beans nice and soft and the Octopus legs were perfect, not in the least bit chewy. I only hope that when this place gets busy, that they can continue to deliver food and service of the level I experienced on my visit. I also liked that when I asked for a glass of tap water, I got a large jug of iced water. They have an excellent BYO Wine policy too, £3.00 for one person, £5.00 for two or free if you add your wine to their Sangria Nice!
