We had an amazing experience at this little gem! The gyros and Greek salad were delightful. We stumbled upon this spot while trying to steer clear of the interstates, and we were so glad we did. The homemade salad dressing and tzatziki sauce, made from a family recipe, were incredible. The owners were very friendly, the service was quick, and the prices were quite reasonable. We’ll definitely stop by again when we’re in the area!
I deducted one star because the CDC guidelines have been relaxed. Masks are neither required nor requested at this restaurant. We chose to wear ours while entering and leaving; the employees wore masks as well. Although we were about six feet away from others and enjoying our delicious meals (Cuban with slaw and gyro onion rings), I still felt uncomfortable. None of the other patrons (four tables, seven people in total) were wearing masks upon entering. It's challenging for business owners to comply with CDC guidelines in a state where the governor believes COVID is under control, especially given the current infection rate of 7.8% reported in the morning news.
This is a small restaurant where I was expecting friendly service. I stopped here with my grand daughter on a Saturday. It was not very busy, but I didn't feel very welcomed when I walked in. I ordered the pancakes so I could share with little one. The pancakes were very thick but tasty. I had one cup of coffee but did not receive a refill. I really thought it would be a family friendly place, but I didn't feel the love at all. Maybe if I lived in Citra, it would have been better? It's not like I'm from New York City!! Ocala is my town!
On a typical drive to visit family in Tampa we end up stopping at some chain restaurant for a quick bite. On this trip my mom happened to spot the sign outside Ted 's that mentioned Boarshead products, a real big deal in my family. We pulled into the parking lot just before 11am and it was packed. We walked in and there was a single table open. There is no sign up front with anything like seat yourself or please wait to be seated. I suspect that is due to the fact that it 's mostly frequented by locals. As we stood there a woman came around the corner with a plate of food and an excuse me. After she delivered the plate she then told us we could sit at the last booth after she wiped the table. We were given breakfast menus that had quite a few items but we both went with BLTs. When we ordered we were asked if we wanted fries (no mention of fries anywhere on the menu, also no mention of the sandwich coming with sides) and a pickle or coleslaw. We both got fries, I got a pickle and my mom got coleslaw. The food came out relatively quickly. The sandwich looked kind of small but we were both stuffed. The fries were good, I would have liked a little more of the seasoning but it was all very tasty. The service was the down fall here. Maybe it 's because we weren 't locals but the woman who helped us seemed to lack any emotions. We didn 't get so much as a have a great day. She was busy but she seemed so uninterested and bored with us, it was rather obnixious. The food was good, bathroom was clean, and the prices can 't be beat (two BLTs, both with fries and 2 drinks was about $13) but the service left an awful lot to be desired.
I discovered this charming spot in the Florida countryside, conveniently located right next to the Orange Shop. The customer service was fantastic, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The fish sandwich was perfectly crispy and paired with a delightful tartar sauce. The Tuna Melt was uniquely prepared, featuring diced onions and boiled eggs mixed into the tuna—a wonderful combination! The Athenian Wrap was light and refreshing. For sides, we enjoyed Fried Okra and Waffle Fries. They also offer freshly made desserts, and we sampled the Baklava, which was amazing. Our waiter, Constantine, was friendly and attentive. I really loved this family-owned restaurant and will definitely return when I'm in the area again. It's always great to support local businesses!
