A Cincinnati classic in Mt. Lookout on the square. Famous for their burgers, chili, and, of course, the train. Nice little bar tucked away. Be patient, as seating is limited but your patience will be rewarded. View all feedback.
What John O doesn't like about ZIP'S CAFE:
Quiet place midweek 4pm. Meter parking with other options if you wanted to walk. I remember this place as pretty good but, it fell little short. I ordered Zip cheeseburger and Fries. Maker's and coke. Food came out quickly. Fries were very good crisp hot. Not salted so added some. Burger was average nothing special. Drink was good and better than expected. Cost was almost 25 with tip. Nice place but would not go out... View all feedback.
Overall, not bad, but overpriced! It was packed and the atmosphere is great. Very dark/dim inside so it is not your cup of tea, maybe not go! I had...
Service was pretty busy with locals from what we saw and heard, but food was as expected. Burgers were pretty solid burgers, we came here for the Rueben...
Awesome place, awesome service and awesome food... Est. 1926..almost 100 years of continuous service in the same location. If you're in Cinci is a must stop for burger lovers..!!!
Zip's is on every list of best burgers in Cincinnati. We had to try it for ourselves. My husband ordered the Girth burger with cheese, and I had the Zip burger with cheese. Burgers were cooked well and were very juicy. We also split a chili cheese fry(yum! . The food was all very good, but we thought it was expensive for the portions. The biggest downfall (and what would prevent us from returning in the future is the atmosphere here. There is no hostess, and it is first come, first served. The dining room is very small, with no real waiting area. We were unfortunate to get a table near the door, so we were surrounded by people hovering over our table the entire time we were seated. We even had someone reach across our table to grab a menu! The other drawback is parking. It is on street parking and depending on the time of day, you may have to park up the road a ways. Zip's is worth a visit, but I recommend going at an off time during the week for smaller crowds and better parking.
