**A Visit to The Senat: Hot Dogs, Unique Flavors, and Decadent Delights**
Nestled on Vine Street, The Senat offers a vibrant culinary experience highlighted by its signature hot dogs. Diners rave about the inventive toppings, though some feel that the rich flavors can overshadow the hot dog itself. The menu also boasts unique offerings like tikka masala grilled cheese and indulgent poutine fries, both receiving praise for their creativity and taste. While service varies—with some enjoying prompt attention and others facing slight delays—the friendly staff consistently enhances the dining atmosphere. Despite mixed feelings on pricing and a few menu items, The Senat remains a memorable spot worth visiting.

Enjoyed the classic dog and pig tails but the truffle fries left a little more to be desired. I like to stick with a classic hot dog because it's not over indulgent and has a good balance of flavors. View all feedback.

This is, without a doubt, the best meal I've ever had in my entire life! The flavor of the natural seasonings combined with the rice is simply irresistible!
The food here is amazing and truly authentic. In my opinion, it's the best vegan option in the city. The shishito peppers are absolutely delicious!
The Braised Short Rib Poutine is a must-have every time we dine here, and you can't go wrong with the Trailer Park or Chicago dishes!
Falafel over rice was perfect. The flavors and texture is so good it couldnt be better. Also naan was the most fresh. Im glad I tried something new!

I recently ate at this restaurant for the first time this past weekend. I actually wanted to eat at the restaurant across the street but the wait was an hour long. I was very surprised when we walked in and we're seated after 15 minutes. While we were waiting I ordered a cocktail from the the bar called the Miso Honey. It is described as being a combination of flavors topped with champagne. However I was given the champagne in a little sidecar shot glass for some reason. while the cocktail was tasty it was very sweet. We were greeted quickly after being seated and ordered the fresh market oysters and roasted marrow-bones as appetizers. While my daughter loved the oysters I feel that $18 for six oysters is very pricey. I ate roasted bone marrow growing up and what I was served at the Senate was very different. I enjoyed the cranberry and onion jam served along with it but the marrow was all fat and I think the cause of a stomach ache that I had during the night. For our dinners we of course ordered the hot dogs that this restaurant is known for. My daughter ordered the Trailer park, I ordered the Lindsay Lohan, and my husband ordered the dog of the day with a side of duck fat fries. since it was right after Thanksgiving the dog of the day was a hot dog smothered with mashed potatoes cranberry sauce and turkey which was a separate meal in itself. While the toppings were interesting and mine were good since I love goat cheese and bacon they totally smothered the hot dog flavor. We had to eat with a knife and fork not that that is necessarily a bad thing. The duck fat fries were unremarkable in my opinion. The lack of wait to be seated may be an indication that the price and popularity of the menu items is losing its local appeal. I feel that this visit was a one-and-done.

We had a great experience sitting at the bar, fast service and delicious food, definitely get the poutine fries and some hotdogs! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the bartender made us cash out right as we were eating because of shift change, we hadn't even finished our app!
We absolutely love Gloria! We had to wait a bit longer than usual for an outdoor table because of a busy event, but we felt so well taken care of by Gloria, the superstar front-of-house. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the food was divine. You can tell a restaurant is exceptional not just by the quality of the food but also by how the staff treats their guests. I highly recommend trying the lemonade and starting off with the decadent poutine; it’s definitely worth the wait!
Who knew hot dogs could be so delicious?! they are really amazing. we had the trailer park and the dog of the day. both were delicious. we also had the chocolate and bourbon brot pudding and I highly recommend saving space! the restaurant itself is quite small with limited seats, but the atmosphere and service are both great!
