Meritage - Cincinnati
Meritage
Description
Meritage offers an inviting ambiance enhanced by live music, making it a popular choice for celebrations. The food quality shines, particularly standout dishes like prime rib and pork chop, though pricing can feel steep. Service experiences vary, with some patrons noting lapses in attention and menu clarity. While the drink selection is praised, noise levels can disrupt conversations. Despite some inconsistencies in service, many diners express a strong desire to return, drawn by the comforting cuisine and warm setting. Overall, Meritage stands out as a place that balances vibrant atmosphere with a memorable dining experience.

I noticed the chef buying fresh tomatoes at the Farmer's Market stand right across the street from the restaurant. Farm-to-table dining at its best! This is likely our favorite restaurant in all of Cincinnati. I tend to keep the family in the main dining room when I need to keep an eye on the kids, as they tend to get distracted by the TVs when we sit upstairs. However, that can be nice, especially when there's live music or a game on for the Reds, Bearcats, Bengals, or FCC!
Our server, Rylan, provided outstanding service and made my birthday celebration even more memorable. However, I was let down by the lamb chops, which were overcooked and didn't even appear to be grilled, despite my order for medium rare. I had higher expectations based on previous visits, so perhaps I should just stick to your sandwiches and salads rather than the main courses.
I went here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and it was hands down the best food I've ever had in my life. I told the waiter to be sure he told the chef just how good it was. I was literally in heaven. The service was excellent and the staff were very knowledgeable on all of the delicious entrees they had to offer. Our waiter, Tyler I believe his name was excellent! I had the half chicken with a couple sides. I cannot tell you how amazing the Brussel sprouts are. I told the waiter I would honestly just come back for the Brussel sprouts by itself. They were that good!! I am definitely coming back and can't wait to try other entrees. I also love the atmosphere. They have an outside patio with string lights and it just feels so homy and comfy. It makes me feel like I'm at home. They also have a full bar upstairs with live music on the weekday/weekends. If anyone is looking for a a great dinner spot, you MUST check out Meritage!!
Staff were incredibly nice, but the food was incredibly bland. I tried the the eggplant parmesan special. It had no flavor whatsoever, and the eggplant was not prepared well. It was served with a pound of pasta for some reason. Would not recommend this place. You do get a large quantity of food, but at quality well below a chain restaurant.
1). Arrived slightly before 4pm had 5 elderly women and were not invited in to sit down wait for a few minutes. 2). We were only allowed to order from 2 items off the menu chicken pasta or 1 particular steak). 3). No one came around to take drink orders. I had to ask for a drink 2 times before receiving. 4). No one was offered refills on drinks. 5). They claimed we said 35 were coming, and we was charged for the 6 more in which she claimed she took something off ummm). 6) For the few kids that did not show were charged adult prices. 7). My nephew ordered a prime rib separately from our meals, and was charged gratuity on a meal that he paid for at the bar.
