Our original dinner plans canceled last night, so we opted for one of our longtime favorites, Pizza e Core for dinner We usually enjoy the air-conditioned room... read more Our original dinner plans canceled last night, so we opted for one of our longtime favorites, Pizza e Core for dinner We usually enjoy the air-conditioned room upstairs, but since it was a cool evening we choose to sit in the downstairs area by the kitchen where we can see them craft the pizzas in a wood-burning oven. We started with a delicious antipasti of burrata cheese with cherry tomatoes and a pesto sauce, and followed with al Divola pizza (mozzarella and spicy salami) and washed it all down with a bottle of chilled merlot. For dessert, we shared a yummy homemade Italian chocolate ice cream. The service was excellent, with English spoken if needed, and the food was delicious. Total cost: $880 for antipasti, pizza, wine, and ice cream. TLDR: Exceptional handmade Italian-style pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven. One of the best pizzas in Merida. Rating: 5/5 stars.
