Too many negative reviews make me post this You get what you are paying for, 18 Euro for a night is a good price for the conditions. You have your own dormitory with a shared bath, keep in mind that some of the rooms don't have WiFi and it can get quite noisy at nights and in the morning when they re cleaning the rooms (if you have some ear plugs it will be excellent) Otherwise, you can use the funicular (10min tops walking distance) and be in the city center really quick. (1euro for 30 mins ticket) If you re travelling by car, don't hesitate and book this place because the parking in Prague is expensive and here they offer you free parking 5euro a day in some periods of time.
Not everyone likes Strahov dormitory hostel, but for me it’s the best place in Prague, at this beautiful hill, with the amazing views in the middle of Prague. And there are nice clubs, cafe’s and restaurants here, plus a bit of the taste of communist CSSR.
Great for the price. The rooms have a good size and are very clean. Furniture and bed clothing are old but clean and they don't smell. The bathrooms are also very clean. The water for the bath is warm. The location is quite nice. Like 15 minutes by bus from the dancing house and around 35 from the main station. There's a market and Mensa nearby. There are several buildings and lots of students and people playing sports. I felt safe and welcome.
Other reviews may have unrealistic or unfair expectations. What you have here is a clean private room in a univerty hall/dorm set up. We paid a bit more for the more expensive option of the 2 and found it to be a bathroom/toilet/kitchen area shared with just one other room. All clean, spacious, big windows. No kitchen equipment, just fridge and hob. Location outstanding near the park. And easy into centre with short walk plus bus or tram.
