Westernised foods does not taste authentic at all, price is slightly high compare to food quality, service is slow. Very crowded, recommend to make reservation in advance. Har Gow (Shrimp Dumplings) seasoning are good but the skin is too thick. Chee Cheong Fun (Rice Noodle Roll) is too thick too and the shrimps were too little, it wasn't able to absorb the soysauce to infuse it's flavouring. Xiaolongbao is disappoint... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Maxine's Palace:
Westernised type dim sums and not at all authentic. Took 45 minutes for first dish to arrive and over an hour for the last to do so if you think dim sum a fast casual affair think again for this place. I think their system of serving is flawed because some tables that did arrive half hour later seemed to have their food View all feedback.
We paid $25 for a small plate at dinner time. Ordered ginger ,beef spring onion dish. They used leek in stead of what the menu said Spring onion Menus are a false advertisment. And small portions. I am ok to pay $25 if the portion was fear and have the correct ingredients stated on the menu. More business ethic
We're fairly new customers here, after our long-time favourite yum cha haunt changed hands and menu. Glad to say we're very happy with the food here, it meets or exceeds our expectations. Well done and we'll be back again soon!
71$ was a lot to pay for this poor quality. Beef brisket Noodles 22$ were hard. Not much meat or bok choy in the soup. Double roast pork on rice was so over sweet I expected roast pork and bbq pork meat to be dry with some sauteed bok choi. But got a wet slimey mess, too much liquid in the container rice soaked in a sickly over sweet sauce should just rename this sugar syrup pork, was like a over sweet rice soup. This was so disappointing. Everything soaked in what I think was a watery hoisin sauce. Rice was like congee, sludge. Overcook and mushy. You are better off to go to little spicy in Riccarton 16$ for a much bigger and flavorsome beef brisket noodle soup. And bigger roast pork portion.
Loved it. Went 2 nights in a row and wanted to go back again. Definitely recommend.
Poor service, food was ok. Waited approx 40 mins from ordering for our food to arrive, but only after I questioned one of the staff to see how long our food would be. All staff seem to avoid eye contact or communicating with you. After checking we were told that the kitchen was busy and she would hurry them along. Our food finally arrived 5 or so mins later. Good communication is key in hospitality and this place lacked it . When settling the bill to sweeten the deal of having to wait the waitress offered us some cheap roses chocolates from the staffs personal stash. More of a kick in the teeth. Won't be returning.
