I initially thought it was a food truck, but I was pleasantly surprised. The souvlaki was fantastic, and the highlight was definitely the meat and the bread. The lamb was incredibly flavorful—I almost wanted to eat it with my hands! Thankfully, I used a spoon; that might have looked a bit odd. It was definitely worth the price. What User doesn't like about Dimitris Greek Food Riccarton:
Girl on reception was rude both on the phone and in store quite demanding attitude. Chicken souvlaki was nice and fresh however lacked in flavour. Missing the yoghurt and bland flavour at times : For the price I will not be getting my souvlakia from here again. View all feedback.
What can I say? Oh my god, it's honestly the best souvlaki I've ever had. I always make sure to enjoy one—or sometimes even five—whenever I’m in Christchurch. I live in Australia, so I don’t get to indulge as often as I’d like, especially over the past year and a bit due to COVID. I plan to go back for one last double serving this Saturday before heading home.
I have to give Dimitris a 5-star rating. Over the many years I've been enjoying their Greek food, I've never been disappointed. The souvlakis are excellent, and they serve a wonderful selection of delicious meat (or vegetarian) salads and sauces. The restaurant is located in a small square on Riccarton Road, making parking a bit of a challenge, although you're likely to find an open space on the road. I highly recommend Dimitris for a fantastic Greek meal, and I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Absolutely delicious. Well priced and always super tasty and fresh. A single is more than enough to fill a gap. Highly recommended.
Always got this at least once a week. Brought again last night, I have to ask....what's changed? I got mixed chicken lamb with chilli sauce extra tizaki (can't spell it! sauce. The flavours were still there but the lamb was hard had hardly no tizaki sauce but had extra chilli sauce. So was too chili for me to enjoy. Will give another chance though.
We had a mix meat salad there. It was good in taste and quantity was good. We paid around for 15 nzd for medium size salad. Worthy.. Situated in Riccarton, infront of ANZ Riccarton branch.
