Friendly service. Great food. Fabulous atmosphere. Would certainly recommend if visiting Sydney. We will visit for an evening meal next time but not during winter as it is mostly outdoor dining. View all feedback.
What theminiaturekitchen doesn't like about Hong Kong Diner:
I've only ever had the dumplings from here, and I have tried the vegetarian dumplings and the pork and prawn. I thought they were both quite decent, but I would like to try the wonton and noodle dishes too. Service has been a little varied and it can take some time to get the food unfortunately. I have had just about warm dumplings served to me before too, but usually they are hot when we pick them up. The bbq pork b... View all feedback.
I am very particular when it comes to giving star ratings and reviews, but I have to give this kitchen 5 stars. The customer service is excellent, the value for money is great, the taste is excellent, and the cost is affordable.
The charming chef prepares fresh dumplings made to order. The service and hospitality were excellent. The pork buns, vegetarian dumplings, and har gow were delicious. Can't wait to return.

Of all the restaurants in Spice Alley, this is the one I gravitate to - I simply love the steamed yum cha style dumplings. The selection is great, but they do seem to run out the chicken dim sims prety quickly - twice I've had to go with the prawn & chicken dim sims instead, which is fine with me but not so fine with my 9 year old, who's not keen on the prawns. You can choose as many or as few as you want, and it's ready around 6 minutes later, and it's the restaurant nearest to Koi, so you can check out their desserts afterwards - one of my favourite places.
A hidden gem just across from UTS - this is my new, post-uni, dinner indulgence. Often sharing a selection of dishes with friends, our go-to picks are the prawn and chive dumplings and the BBQ pork buns from Hong Kong Diner. We smother these delicious parcels in the most incredible chilli sauce, immediately eradicating all stress of the day. Would highly recommend for a casual bite – the atmosphere lives up to the food!
