Was Julia Okuneva at Brickfields a mag?
Friendly service, great coffee. Expired the bacon sandwich and the ham / cheese croissant. FRUIT TART is a must! Place is small, so had to wait a little for a seat - but definitely worth waiting! View all feedback.
What Tania Conn dislikes about Brickfields:
Every thing there was awful. The service was bad, they gave us a wrong order and when i kindly told the girl there, we didnt order this, sge gave us an attitude.

Visited Brickfields this morning to be told there were no brownies, sad for us, though not a complaint worthy problem. We next asked for a slice of the flourless chocolate cake - the attendant politely proceeded to serve us, though was interrupted by another server who told him it was not on offer to us, as the cake had not yet been cut - again not a problem. We ordered a coffee and waited patiently, before a server impolitely asked us to wait outside for our order (despite the light rain that was building momentum outside). We waited patiently, though there remained patrons inside the cafe, waiting for their coffees - they had presumably not been asked to wait outside, or had perhaps ignored the ludicrous request. After ten minutes, we asked the same server if our order had been prepared, however she drily told us that orders that had been submitted before ours were still being completed - funny, given the fact that we had watched three sets of customers who had been served after us, take their drinks and subsequently leave. We re-entered the cafe, much to the dismay of the server, who proceeded to stare at us. We asked the barista about the status of our coffee and were told it had already been dispensed, conveniently to two patrons who arrived 10 minutes after us, and were located in the exact spot we had been asked to vacate. We asked for our coffee to be remade, and were told it would be delivered shortly. I've done the hospo circuit, so I'm well aware mistakes happen. But no guest should ever be marginalised, (let alone regular guests...) and sent to wait outside while others are permitted to stay inside. If this is the case, at least attempt a smile, or some version of courtesy rather than treating your guests as though they have asked for the key to the city. We eventually received our order, though instead of remorse it was delivered with an eye roll and and hostility. Thanks Guys, Namaste.
The best coffee, croissants and jam I've had in Sydney. The music can be a little loud in the mornings. Dress in shorts and a tank top if passing by in summer, as the onsite bakery can make the seating area hot hot hot.

Brickfields is a popular bakery in Chippendale which is known for its bread and pastries. The simple cafe features a high ceiling and glass counter where the baked pastries and cakes are paraded. I would have rated Brickfields a credible 3.0 or 3.5 if I had not bothered to try their breakfast bowl for the day. Their pastries and cakes, the Malaysian Kaya cake and croissants, were flavoursome and delectable but the breakfast bowl was simply terrible and resembled a tasteless, hospital meal. The corn, peas and sesame etc were dry and seemingly unrelated and it was not a surprise that most of the diners could not finish them. Perhaps they should just keep to selling cakes and pastries and nothing else.
Brickfields is a popular bakery in Chippendale known for its bread and pastries. The café has a high ceiling and a glass display where baked goods are showcased. While some customers experienced delays and issues with service, others praised the friendly staff and great coffee. Some highlights included the fruit tart, bacon sandwich, and ham/cheese croissant. Despite mixed reviews, many agreed that Brickfields has some of the best coffee, croissants, and jam in Sydney. Overall, it seems like a place worth trying for those looking for a cozy café with delicious baked goods.
