Here is the reason: 1. the view: from t... read more Iasmos bar is definitiw the best place on chios island. I've been here for three weeks and almost every night came here. Here is the reason: 1. the view: from the iasmos bar they have a perfect view over the sea, which is recommended especially during sunsets and to see the small boats crossing. when it is dark, they can see the lights of the surrounding villages and those in the turquoise, but also the clear starry sky. 2. the drinks: there is a wide range of large cocktails and in contrast to many other bars here they use quality liquor and juices and they know what they do. I was quite surprised to find such a professional bar on this not so urban location. each drink is served with nuts and popcorn, potato chips or sweet with salt and vinegar. also: homeburnt coffee, drink it eggy! 3. the music: I am allergic to places that play top hit radios or prefixed bar jazz game lists. the lieder in the iasmos are very well chosen: from jazz to alternative, and even the Greek nights are not as bad as they would probably suspect they are. 4. that look: iasmos bar has a great atmosphere, it is very nicely furnished, not traditional Greek, but also not pushing hip. there are small candles hanging in the trees, the colors of the chairs and tables are fresh, but not aggressive, and everything connects perfectly with the surrounding trees and plants. 5. the people: gogo and eleytheria are the perfect team, two young women who manage this bar in very professional wise, but always with enough time to chat for a few minutes. 6. for people (like me who get nervous without being online, they also have wifi; loved it!
