The restaurant had mixed reviews, with some customers complaining about seating, long wait times, and disappointing food. However, others were impressed by the warm atmosphere, great service, and delicious meals. The pub had a nice setting for watching a cricket match and hosting events like a funeral reception. The festive menu received high praise with standout choices such as poached pear and goats cheese starter and a delightful sticky toffee pudding. Despite some issues, the restaurant garnered positive feedback for its friendly staff, welcoming environment, and overall good experience.

All good, portions of food acceptable just a little smaller than usual.

Really nice time meal at The Squirrel. Ladies working there are so warm, friendly and accommodating. Food was really nice. Good quality and freshly prepared. Great portion sizes. A beautiful pub in the country. I would definitely recommend.

We visited on recommendation and were not disappointed. The team were friendly and we never felt rushed. The pub is beautiful inside and out. Food was great! Thank you x

We went for valentines evening food was well cooked and ok Jo the manager was offensive and rude and attacked me verbally with in the first 5 minutes of our arrival she was very sarcastic about her running out of jd which she hadn’t as she found some but not before she made me feel very small in front of the whole pub trying to press me to order something else and very loudly to I kept my mouth shut for fear of ruining our night… But I think she did that for us I am sure she was drinking too.. This is not the first time she has been rude to me I don’t know why she is like this but I can’t be the only one…… We spoke to the land lord on the way out about it and he was very appologetic and slurring his words badly… he asked us to give them another try I don’t think so but thanks Also noticed that the waitress locked the fire door and was playing a prank on somebody but it stayed locked for over an hour… Then when we got home Jo had over charged us for a pudding that we never had, only £7:50 but it’s the principle after all…. it left a bad taste…. I called back to tell her and Jo said she would refund tomorrow… let’s hope she does …. Jo did refund but I had to remind her again to refund my money !!! And no apology

Not having been here previously despite living not many miles away, we sad we had missed on not coming before. Excellent atmosphere, warm and cosy on a frosty evening (loved the log fires), great reception on arrival and service. It is dog friendly so if you don't like dogs then perhaps not a place for you. We had a really enjoyable meal (2 excellent steaks), the steak pie had a nice filling the hard pasty let it down. We enjoyed our desserts. All at a reasonable price. Menu is small but perfect for a country pub. We will be making The Squirrel a regular place to go for just a drink or a meal
