The restaurant was clean and tidy, and the girls really enjoyed their meals. We will definitely be coming back.

The... read more Yesterday afternoon, a friend and I visited The Square for a catch-up. It was my first time there and I was impressed by the welcoming and clean atmosphere. There was a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from, and the coffee was delicious. Although I didn't have a meal, I saw another customer enjoying a large English Breakfast that looked amazing. I plan to return to try the food. The restaurant has a variety of seating options, including tables, chairs, settees, and a cozy snug. The restrooms were clean and stocked with fragrant hand soap. The prices were a bit high for my liking, but the food is freshly prepared. The service was excellent and they also offer takeout. I noticed a loyalty card on the counter, but it's best to ask about how it works. I absolutely loved The Square and can't wait to go back. Kudos to the staff for their great work.

L... read more Visited with my wife for lunch today, first time since pre-covid. I had the 3 egg omelette with ham mushrooms, my wife had the jacket potato with tuna cheese. Lovely food and good vfm, Staff were friendly and welcoming. spotlessly clean. Also purchased some local honey there.Definately be back for coffee or lunch again.

Initially, the appearance from the outside... read more I dined at this restaurant today with two friends for the first time, as it had been recommended to me several times. Initially, the appearance from the outside was not appealing, as all the windows were covered in condensation, making it impossible to see inside. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we entered. The cafe was beautifully decorated with plenty of space. The food was delicious, with generous portions, fresh ingredients, and great value for money. Unfortunately, the temperature inside was cold, particularly in the restrooms. Surprisingly, the small side room "The Snug" was warm and cozy when I passed through it to use the restroom, so it was unclear why the main cafe was so cold. This may explain the condensation on the windows. It was a bit disappointing as we would have enjoyed our experience even more if it had been warmer inside.

There is a sign saying due to COVID no table service or table clearing, what is that all about??? When your food is ready the lady comes out to find you, you then collect your carrier bag from the counter and take it to your table to eat. Why on earth doesn’t she just bring it out to you, oh yes because of COVID. For goodness get a grip and offer a proper service using china plates and cups, proper cutlery and serve customers their food and clean the tables. The food was nice but all the nonsense didn’t make it enjoyable.
