The f... read more I visited the restaurant on a Friday morning. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. The avocado and spinach omelette was delicious and fresh. The freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccino were perfect. The atmosphere in the cafe was pleasant and despite spending time on my laptop and reviewing posts, I didn't feel rushed at all. I will definitely be returning soon!

I opted to pay with my card, but then had to wait quite a while before finally receiving my order. Unfortunately, I then noticed my food being delivered to another table. I ended up eating the meal that was intended for someone else before leaving. To top it off, the same server who I had initially paid approached me as I was leaving to ask if I had paid. While the food was decent, the service definitely needs improvement.

When I asked the waitress who checked with the chef, I... read more Unfortunately, my vegan sandwich (marked on the menu and given on the order) was prepared with milk fat. When I asked the waitress who checked with the chef, I was told that it was due to a new chef who made it with butter... if it didn't normally have such an ingredient. they did not seem to take the thing seriously, but asked if I wanted to make one. I was offered an apology only once I let them know that this was not acceptable, late in the conversation. I cannot recommend matilda for those who suffer with allergies or with food restrictions.
