Was Anonym at Rene's Café a mag?
We visited Rene's Cafe at least once a week for 8 weeks. It's a little out of the way and situated on the lake, with amazing views from the terrace cafe. I never actually ate anything from the menu except cake; and eventually tried them all. The very favourite and most eaten was the Schwarzwalder Kirschetorte which was spectacular every time.The only cake not to my taste was the Mohnkuchen, but managed to finish it.... View all feedback.

Location was very nice, but the wooden steps from the lake would have to be overhauled. The apple strudel was self-made and good, the (poor) cheese cake was not entirely our taste, but that is relatively View all feedback.

A beautiful spot with a fantastic view of Lake Chiemsee. Delicious cakes, delicious food, and super-friendly hosts.
A little hidden and therefore away from the see and be seen area, Rene 's Café is a little solitude, in the best sense of the word. There is a small upper terrace and down the stairs a slightly larger terrace (maybe just 9 tables? . You won 't find crowds here and that 's what makes René 's Café, on the often very busy Chiemsee, so special. Quiet and dignified rather than loud and forced, the coffee and cake (see the first two pages of the menu taste really excellent. Yes, the view of Lake Chiemsee is not a 180 degree view but this café is still highly recommended. Maybe or especially in bad weather because the inside has great flair!
