The Rawbar Restaurant Sushi - Chico

I have a passion for sushi, and this restaurant certainly met my expectations. The sushi was outstanding, and the appetizers were delightful! The service was excellent as well. The only downside was the chicken salad; the chicken lacked flavor, although the rest of the salad was quite tasty. I don’t frequently visit this area, but I will definitely make a point to return the next time I'm in town.

The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. The waiter forgot most of our orders and served everyone around us instead. When we asked about our food—after waiting for 1 hour and 40 minutes despite having made a reservation—he simply shrugged and said, “Not everyone is perfect.” I pointed out that I still hadn't received one dish I had ordered, and he insisted that I had, which was not true. In the end, we spent $240 for four people. Our friends even took a picture of their order from the menu to show him, only for him to deny that they had ordered it. While the food itself was enjoyable, the terrible service overshadowed the experience; we spent over two hours waiting for our meals. We were there last night with a reservation for 7:30 PM on Friday, October 14, and we sat outside. I can’t remember the waiter’s name.

I've visited the raw bar several times over the past few years, and each experience has been enjoyable. Keep in mind, though, that it often gets quite busy, which can lead to some delays. However, the staff has always been friendly and helpful, and the food consistently meets my expectations. I strongly recommend making a reservation online; it’s a simple process. The menu leans towards the unconventional, featuring rolls with unique combinations and bold flavors, rather than sticking strictly to nigiri or sashimi. I personally enjoy this approach, so I’m a fan. If you’re seeking a traditional Japanese dining experience, this may not be the right place for you. But if you’re open to exploring new tastes while still enjoying high-quality fish, this is definitely the spot for you.

I love Sushi and this place does not disappoint. The Sushi was top notch! The appetisers were great! Service was fantastic. Only thing I was disappointed in was the chicken salad, the chicken didn't have much flavour but the rest of the salad was tasty. I don't get to this part of the world that often but the next time I am in town I will make an effort to visit again.

When we asked for our order (1 hour and 40 minutes later) after having reservations he told us not everyone is perfect. I told him I still did not receive something I ordered he told me I did (I didn?t) $240 later for four people. Our friends took a picture of what they ordered to show him what they had ordered on the menu when he told them no they didn?t order it.
