Was Anonym at Virtue a mag?

Finally it went to hyde park to visit virtual that has been on my list for years. I came to the opening at 16 o'clock and could secure a seat at the bar. The hour is available only in this area. the space is quickly filled in. I started with a hyde park sazerac, a cat slider and a cup of rubberbo from the HH menu. for my head, I went with the summer squash and buttered grits. everything I had was delicious, tasteful... I was happy to learn of those upscale southern soul food restaurant in Hyde Park. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff was very knowledgeable of the food and menus. We started with Fried Green Tomatoes. I wasn't impressed as they were tothickly cut and lacked salt. It was recommended by our waiter that my sister and I try the the short ribs. I'm glad we did. Theywere tender and well seasoned and the gravy was superb. We also added the cornbread, Mac and cheese as a side and bananapudding and red velvet cake for dessert. All of our choices did not disappoint us. Delish! I give 4 stars for having to pay anon refundable 20.00+tax for a reservation for 2 (was applied to the bill) and paying a 3.5% surcharge to assist with employeeinsurance. Because of these extra fees unfortunately I may not return.

Went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was booked up the entire day, but luckily it was only about a 10min wait for seats at the bar. After tasting the food, I understand completely as to why they are booked and busy. The food was absolutely deliciousand seasoned to perfection as well as healthy portion sizes. The star of the show was the Strawberry Bread Pudding. I would comeback to this restaurant specifically for that as I will make it a point to eat here the next times I come to Chicago.

We really wanted to try one of the delectable-looking sweet rations, but there was no room to put it in. We will just have to go back again. Two thumbs up for sure

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Allll the food was amazing and the service was on point! Highly recommend the short ribs, fried green tomatoes, gizzards, collard greens, banana pudding, and the red velvet cake. The only negative was that we hada reservation and had to wait a half an hour. But I feel like the service and food more than made up for it. Will be going hereagain!!

Eating at Virtue restaurant reminded me of my grandparents' kitchen. I was delighted that the ambiance was dimly lit so my dining companions couldn't see me tearing up over the greens and cornbread. I only ate a little bit of my meal so I could savor the flavors and be transported back to my childhood. Thank you for providing an authentic Southern food experience that is rare to find. The food truly touched my soul.

Virtue is definitely worth a visit. From the moment we walked into the restaurant until we left, we enjoyed every aspect of our experience. The ambiance, the staff, and even the other diners all contributed to a fantastic dining experience. It was clear that a lot of love and care went into every dish. Is this what good southern food in Chicago is like? If so, we're sold. We tried green tomatoes, catfish, short ribs, mac and cheese, collard greens, and cornbread with honey butter. Every dish was delicious and made us feel like we were back home. We wanted to try one of their tempting dessert options, but we were too full. We'll definitely have to come back to try it. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

My friend and I arrived very late for happy hour, but the staff at the restaurant were still welcoming and allowed us to sit at the bar. We quickly placed our order for rubber bear sliders (delicious, not made of actual rubber), Wels sliders (delicious), a Peach Tree Fizz cocktail, and a Patience Is Virtue cocktail. The drinks were strong and tasty, and the food was delicious. I am looking forward to returning to try more items from their full menu.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this upscale restaurant in the southern part of Hyde Park. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and menus. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes, but I found them to be lacking in flavor and seasoning. Our waiter suggested we try the short ribs, and I'm so glad we did. They were tender, well-seasoned, and the portion size was great. We also ordered cornbread, Mac and cheese as sides, and banana pudding and red velvet cake for dessert. All of our choices were delicious and didn't disappoint. I would give this restaurant 4 stars, but unfortunately, the non-refundable $20 reservation fee for 2 people (which was applied to our bill) and the 3.5% surcharge for employee insurance make it unlikely for me to return.

Sitting on a Sunday afternoon and the place was booked all day, but luckily it was only about 10min waiting for places at the bar. After tasting the food, I fully understand why they are booked and busy. The food was absolutely delicious and seasoned for perfection as well as healthy portion sizes. The star of the show was the Strawberry Bread Pudding. I would specifically come back to this restaurant because I will eat it for the next time to Chicago.

Beautiful upscale Black-owned restaurant. The food was amazing! The service was great! The atmosphere was beautiful. we ordered the shrimp and grits, gumbo, and fried green tomatoes and everything was delicious! I even got a non-alcoholic drink and it was really good too! You just have to make sure you get a reservation because they get booked up!
