Was Anonym at Taxim a mag?
I had a wonderful rooftop dinner at Taxim. Everything was delicious. My 4 stars is just to improve the duck temperature on the gyros it was a bit too cooked and control some of the salt on the orzo. The tzatziki was my favorite it tasted like labne which I love! The fried cauliflower was delicious but oilier than I liked. The duck gyros were to die for, the pomegranate molasses was a PERFECT touch. The lemon dill pie... View all feedback.
What Lesley Parker dislikes about Taxim:
The food was good, but service was very slow and not well timed. We dined early Friday evening, and the restaurant was not full when we arrived. After the initial greeting from our server, it was a long time before she returned to take our order. Our bottle of wine arrived after we finished our appetizer. View all feedback.
We had heard great things about Taxim and were excited to visit, as we are fans of Greek cuisine. Unfortunately, we were quite dissatisfied with our visit and even spoke with the manager to share our feedback. The food was decent, but did not impress us as we had hoped. The lamb chops were cooked well but lacked flavor, as if they had not been seasoned at all. My red wine was served warm, indicating it had been open for too long, and the waiter kindly replaced it with a fresh but warm glass. The server was friendly, but the overall service was lacking - we were not offered a drink menu other than wine and only given one food menu for two people. The food arrived promptly, but we had to wait a while for the check. Overall, the experience fell short of our expectations.
I recently visited this restaurant for the second time and once again, I was very impressed with the food. In my opinion, it is the best Greek restaurant in Chicago. They offer an exceptional selection of dishes and have an amazing wine list. The portions are perfect for sharing between 4-6 people, but my experience with just 2 people was also fantastic. We tried a variety of dishes and each one was exceptional.
My wife has food allergies and they were very accommodating with regards to that
Some of the best Greek food I have ever had! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $50–60
