Tapas Valencia - Chicago
Tapas Valencia
Description
Tapas Valencia has been a long-time favorite, but recent price hikes have dimmed its appeal. The Paella fell short, but appetizers shined. The menu offers a mix of hits and misses, with strong croquettes and a disappointing vegetable paella. Service is impeccable, and the homemade desserts are a highlight. The ambiance is average, with a dated feel. Fruit flies and inconsistencies in freshness are drawbacks, but overall a decent spot for tapas. Valet parking is a plus. Inconsistent reviews, but worth a try for those who appreciate quality service and a varied menu.

Expensive! The portions are decent, and the food tastes good. I had the Paella Camposina, which is a vegetable paella; it was alright, but I've had better. The skirt steak was excellent, especially paired with the roasted red peppers. The croquettes were absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding as well, so my only real complaint is the high price. I'm not entirely sure I would label it as completely authentic Spanish cuisine, but it comes pretty close. We used to be fans of Cafe Ibérico, which has now closed, so this is our second choice!
The service was outstanding! The live music was so enjoyable. Selection and food was very good. Looking forward to going again!
A great Spanish tapas meal excellent, diverse plates. The whole family enjoyed it. It was really convenient to have an early dinner before an evening Chicago Fire match at nearby Soldier Field.
This is my third time dining at Tapas Valencia. Everytime I’ve dined here I have thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. The hostesses are friendly and welcoming, and the servers are fantastic. I have tried several of the cold tapas, hot tapas and entrees and loved each one. My favorites tapas so far have been the stuffed mushrooms, lamb chops, tiger shrimp and the avocado stuffed with ceviche. I absolutely love the Paella Mariscos and the branzino. My favorite dessert so far is the Almond Pound cake with pears. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.
