Description

Haciendo del Sol is a restaurant that has received mixed reviews, with some patrons praising the good service and delicious food, particularly the sushi offerings. The ambiance and patio dining atmosphere have also been highly appreciated, with special mentions for staff attentiveness and surprises for special occasions. However, other reviews have criticized the cramped space and slow service, as well as issues with reservations and table proximity. Overall, it seems that Haciendo del Sol can be a good choice for those looking for a nice dining experience, especially for sushi lovers, but might require some flexibility with reservations and patience with service.

Just swung by Tanuki Sushi Grill in Lakeview and dropped around $50 on a Tuna Poke bowl, Salmon Crudo, a robata beef short rib skewer, plus a couple spicy rolls—all BYOB. Cozy, rustic‑chic vibe with friendly crew, quick service, and fish that’s buttery fresh. Love the robata grill action and laid‑back feel. Legit date‑night gem—can’t wait to come back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Service: Dine in Price per person: $30–50 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Paid street parking

Incredible sushi! Easily the best quality sushi I've had in Chicago, and the price is very reasonable considering how delicious and well-made everything is. So far, I've tried the T.G.I.F. Roll, Philly roll, sake nigiri, unagi nigiri, crab Rangoon, shishito peppers, asparagus, and chicken katsu entree. All have been AMAZING. The flavor of the shishito peppers and asparagus is light yet flavorful. The crab Rangoon is probably the best I've had in Chicago, other than in Chinatown. The service is great, and the servers are all very kind and insightful. An added bonus: it's BYOB with no corkage fee! This is a perfect spot for a date or to take friends when they're in town. It gets packed during dinner hours, so make a reservation or expect to wait (it's worth it! .

I'm usually not really a fan of Asian food, but I think this place has something for everyone, even picky eaters (like myself haha). It's definitely advertised as a sushi place, but for those who aren't too keen on that, I 100% recommend taking a look at their grill or hot food menu! I got the Sizzling Drunken Noodles, and even though it's not too hot, it gives a nice kick that really amps the flavor level (especially with the variety of vegetables included). The servers were quick and really nice, and they continuously checked up on me and then rest of my party. The food came out very quick, and I definitely recommend coming around 5-6 pm on Wednesday since they're not really busy. What I really enjoyed was the atmosphere, for the lighting and the whole experience was just very pleasant (their music choices were also very fun to listen to). Try it out, please!!!
