I ordered the green chicken, red pork, rajas, and champurrado. They were okay, but definitely lacking in flavor. The green chicken was the blandest, and it didn’t come with much salsa. The champurrado wasn’t great either; it had a minty taste, which I didn’t enjoy (though I’m not a fan of mint in general). It looked similar to hot chocolate, though. Overall, I wouldn’t go back, but it’s nice to try out local spots. I did love the restaurant's interior! Overall, I’d rate it a 6/10.

We stood in line on opening day, and it was definitely worth the wait! We sampled the pork tamales, and my only regret is not getting more while we were there—they were fantastic. It appears that everyone else is just as thrilled as we are to have the Tamale Guy's storefront on Chicago Ave, given how quickly they sell out. The wait is absolutely worthwhile!

I'm really disappointed that this restaurant lists its hours online but wasn't actually open when I arrived. I drove an hour to get here, and it was such a hassle. Thankfully, I know a few people who have his contact number and were able to find out his whereabouts.

I'm going to be a loyal customer for life! Everything was incredibly delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I'd travel anywhere for these tacos and tamales. Hats off to the chefs!

I visited this restaurant recently, only to find it closed, despite their signs indicating they should be open during business hours. This isn't the first time I've experienced this issue. In trying to figure out why they were closed, I learned through a Google search that they are being sued by the real Tamale Guy for not sharing any profits and for profiting from his recipes and likeness. However, considering their inconsistent hours and their lack of adherence to the posted schedule, it raises the question of whether they are actually making any money at all.
