Sunny Sub - Chicago
Sunny Sub
Description
Sunny Sub is a neighborhood sandwich spot known for a standout fried chicken sandwich and generally tasty fare that keeps locals returning. The shop offers a cozy, casual atmosphere and quick counter service, but inconsistent staffing and occasional rudeness undermine the experience. Prices feel high for portion sizes, and late-night availability appears unreliable despite advertised hours. Great for a flavorful lunch or casual dinner if you accept variable service and limited late-night options.

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was terrible, and it seems like they just don’t care. Although they advertise that they're open until 4 AM, when I called at 2:30 AM to place an order, the staff member told me I had to come in person. So, I drove over, only to be told by an older gentleman that they were only serving Italian beef sandwiches. I explained that I had come all the way there to hear that, and he just shrugged it off, acting like he didn’t know what was going on. It felt like he was just being lazy. I won’t be ordering from this place again.
Initial impressions: The staff member was quite rude. There was only one person handling both orders and cooking. However, the food was decent and reasonably priced.
This local treasure, Sunny Sub, provides a delightful atmosphere and outstanding service. A highlight of their menu is the Chicken Sandwich, which is expertly fried and served with fresh green lettuce and cheese, all tucked into a soft sesame seed bun—definitely a must-try. Whether you're stopping by for a quick lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner, Sunny Sub consistently offers a wonderful dining experience that keeps customers returning. I highly recommend it; it’s truly my favorite spot! #TEAMSUNNYSUB
This charming neighborhood spot offers all your local favorites. I had the pleasure of trying my first Jim shoe sandwich here, and it was quite delicious.
