Small Cheval - Chicago
Small Cheval
Description
This once-beloved burger spot faces challenges as its popularity surges, leading to inefficiencies and disappointing service. While the burgers and iconic milkshakes remain crowd-pleasers, customers find themselves grappling with long waits and overwhelmed staff. The patio offers a vibrant atmosphere, especially on sunny days, but limited indoor seating leaves diners exposed to the elements. Many patrons reminisce about the restaurant's former glory, as inconsistencies in food quality and service reliability are increasingly evident. While some still cherish the experience, others seek alternatives, suggesting a need for the establishment to reassess its approach to customer service and comfort.

Great customer service staff, Virginia you a star. Nice and clean cozy chill vibe with hanging string lights, options to sit inside or outside, heated and spacious. IMHO the meat quality didn’t meet the hype. Fries were okay, thought they were gonna be hand cut. Cold tasty beverages. I had the signature double cheeseburger and I am not sure where all the 5* reviews come from? The bun was burned a little bit, which didn’t help the taste and the meat wasn’t special. But the staff was nice and the location clean. Sorry for the bad review. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20

I accidentally ordered their signature cheeseburger which is a double patty burger. That’s too much patty for me, so next time I would order the single cheeseburger.Their golden fries with white cheese sauce were a perfect add on. Next time I’d try the truffle cheese sauce. Did they change their French fries? I thought they used to be different. These are still good thoughTheir chocolate milkshake was amazing. You can add a shot of amaretto to it which pairs very well together and have yourself a boozy milkshake!Their patio is spacious and really fun to hang out in, especially on a beautiful summer day. It’s always busy and takes some time to get your food, but that’s to be expected here. Kid-friendliness: Very family friendly. I saw many families here.
