The atmosphere was disappointing from the moment I entered until I left. The service was lacking, management was inadequate, and the new owner is not impressive at all. The food was also subpar, and after sitting for two hours, there was no food available for bento boxes. Mr. Kyle, as the new owner, needs to step up and manage properly. I would suggest handling things like a true owner. I even offer my services as a business management consultant free of charge, just to help address these issues. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place; the bartending and service were just not good.
I had the strangest dining experience of my life. I ordered Japanese Katsu, and as you can see in the picture, it was predominantly spinach—90% of it, in fact. Has anyone ever seen spinach in Katsu before? I also got a vegetarian sushi roll, but I forgot to take a picture of it. Surprise, surprise—it was also filled with spinach. It felt like a total waste of money. To make things worse, I noticed that the bill included a self-imposed tip. I have never encountered a waiter or owner who adds their own tip to the bill like that. I definitely cannot recommend this place to anyone. I’m truly sorry about my experience.
The sushi donuts at this restaurant were incredibly delicious. I tried the Blue Line (spicy tuna) and the Chicago Loop (salmon) and they exceeded all my expectations.
