Was Matt I at Shine a mag?
Shine is the perfect Lincoln Park go to. It's one of my favorite walkable sushi places in LP, Toro is always insane with the waits and it's over-rated. Shine also has a much larger menu and selection of cuisines. The staff is so friendly and the service is quick too. View all feedback.
What Kristi Casale dislikes about Shine:
I spent $100 on 5 flavorless rolls. The soft shell crab was fishy. Overall it was pretty gross and not the same Shine I remember! Yuck! Service: Delivery Price per person: $50–60 Food: 1 View all feedback.

Went for my daughters birthday and they gave us a separate room which was great. They also brought out a dessert with a candle for her and were really attentive. Great food too! Highly recommend
Haven’t been back here in years since we don’t live in the city anymore. Just as great as it used to be. Super fresh and perfectly cooked veggies, fish and chicken. And excellent service. So glad it’s still around and still delicious
One of our favorite spots in Chicago. Tuk is fabulous offering excellent service. Food is fresh and always delicious.

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, with the option to dine outdoors. Unfortunately, desserts were not available on Mondays.
Our server Cherry was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was tasty.

This restaurant is located in a nice area, in a cozy town that has a college feel (DePaul University is nearby). Our daughter, who we were visiting from out of town, recommended it, so we tried it. The restaurant is very clean both inside and out. It was a beautiful evening, so we requested outdoor seating, which turned out to be a pleasant experience. The menu offers an extensive selection of Pan Asian dishes, from hot entrees to assorted sushi and sashimi. The food we ordered was prepared perfectly. We particularly liked the fresh duck wrap appetizer, which contained shredded duck and cucumber rolled in soft rice paper with plum dipping sauce, and the Neptune's Delight entree a delightful combination of shrimp, scallops, calamari and mixed vegetables in a light wine sauce, served in an edible crispy basket which perfectly soaked up the sauce. Service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit, we will be sure to return to this restaurant.
Fried rice was delicious. Hard to find good Chinese in Chicago for an East Coaster but I'm definitely going to order from here again.
I loved Shine Rise and it was cool to see that they have an authentic Shanghai cuisine menu. Really talented sushi chefs and we had some really good nigiri. Rolls are good too, their flaming maki was awesome. Service was on point, we went on a slow day but they were attentive. Try their Dungeness crab, but for Shanghainese menu items you have to call 24 hours in advance for preparation. Also get some nigiri, and the lychee martini. Fantastic and will go back.
I love Shine. My wife likes the Chinese items and I like the Japanese. Consistently good food and quick. I did have a problem with an order recently. Shine made a mistake. When I brought it to their attention, they fixed it immediately. They gave me options. Excellent customer service!!! We will be back both online and in person.

I've eaten there several times, always excellent well-priced ample portions, and delicious flavors! Kid-Friendly, exceptionally courteous staff. Great that they have straight Asian as well as sushi!
