This was our fourth or fifth visit to Shaman, and it just keeps getting better. The food is modern, fine Mexican cuisine, and the service is extremely attentive. We highly recommend it, and it’s a must-try! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shaman By Chilam Balam:
The food was pretty good if you evaluated each dish in a vacuum. But for the overall meal, there wasn't much range. Every dish seemed to have the same sauces on them: their guajillo salsa and their avocado sauce. It seemed like everything we ordered from quesadillas, to empanadas, to enchiladas all had the same sauce and the same flavors. We were looking for something a little different. The value was not that great... View all feedback.
Mexican small plates at a friendly neighborhood spot serving amazing food and offering great service. The menu changes regularly but the time I went my favorite dishes were the mahi mahi ceviche, pork belly tacos and grilled pork ribs. It's BYOB and you can bring beer wine or tequila (to mix with the house pitchers).
Not sure how this is the only byob place in west town open past 10, but that's how I discovered it. Fantastic food pork belly tacos were my favorite. The atmosphere is a bit odd and could use some updating, but the prices and quality more than make up for it.
I absolutely love this place....a small and cozy neighborhood byob with some of the best ceviche and all-around great mexican small plates. the servers were very friendly and warm, and even invited us back for free dessert when we were too full to order. no frills, excellent food.
Every single thing we ordered was delectable. The service was outstanding, as well. Highly recommend!
The food was fine and not as expensive in the end as I expected. The restaurant is a bit overbearing with its rules. It also seems to be designed to be unnecessarily loud. Overall, it was fine for one meal but probably not a repeat.
