Senoritas Cantina - Chicago

When my friends and I visited Señoritas, one of my friends was holding a can, and when he asked the doorman where he could dispose of it, the man erupted in anger, hurling insults and making a scene. My friend simply wanted to know where to throw the can so it wouldn’t be on the table. Instead of giving a straightforward answer, the doorman continued to shout at him. We all tried to clarify, but he just kept yelling. To make matters worse, we had another friend waiting inside, and when she came out to join us, she mentioned that he had been rude to her as well. It was truly shocking how aggressive he was; you could literally see his veins bulging on his bald head while he shouted. It felt like he had a serious attitude problem. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

The margarita was ok at best. The bartender seemed to be elsewhere in his mind. He asked us for our drink order, we replied one lime without salt and one pineapple. He came back with a salted lime and a cucumber. He knew he got the salt wrong and asked if I would drink it anyway. I told him no and he simply poured over the salt into a new glass. Also, for the place to be so small, it took longer than expected to get the 2 drinks.

I have been for drinks and for dinner on 2 separate occasions. Always have a great experience, very good drinks, and food was flavorful! Service is friendly and accommodating, very clean establishment.Vegetarian options: Very good, definitely recommend, I believe I had the vegan chorizo! I think vegan is a good dish to try if you are new to the restaurant.

The Sangria was the worst… Very disappointing since it is one of there signature drinks. Table service was actually good. Food was below average for the neighborhood. Overall I think there are better options within a few blocks. The decor was cool, but the ceiling was leaking above the toilet in the men’s room. Gross!

I stopped by for a quick visit with friends and family, and we all enjoyed our drinks. The tacos de barbacoa and carne asada were fantastic, and the guacamole was delicious!
