The Sashimi and signature rolls were all outstanding, especially the Wow roll. We had no trouble getting a table on a Friday night at 7PM which was a bonus.
After recently moving to the neighborhood, I made a reservation at this restaurant with my friends who had traveled in from the suburbs. Unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant. While pouring our own wine, a gnat landed in my friend's glass, which was quite disturbing. Then, when our first round of sushi arrived, my friend found that her chopsticks were moldy – to the point where the mold was coming off on her hands. Disgusting. We immediately informed our server that we wanted to cancel our order and pay for what we had already received. Despite initially being told that we would have to pay for the sushi that was already made, the manager eventually brought us the bill for only what we had ordered. She also mentioned that they had new chopsticks and had removed all the old ones from the tables. We paid the bill and left for a different sushi restaurant nearby. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.
I love how peaceful this restaurant is on a weeknight, and how it's not filled with pretentious fake hipsters like other places near the movie theater. It's the perfect spot for a post-work meal before catching a movie. We're not sure why we never tried this place before, but now it will be our go-to spot in the neighborhood for delicious sushi and excellent service.
Place is small and we were the only people there. The other 2 people that went in while we were there, went to order food to go. Wouldn't go back, but the food was very good so I would do pick-up.
The sushi rolls were excellent, especially the Wow roll which truly impressed us. Despite being the only customers in the restaurant, we had to consistently ask the server for things as they were not regularly checking on us. However, they were all very friendly.
