Sable, once known for its amazing food, has taken a turn for the worse according to recent reviews. Some customers found the food embarrassingly bad, with small portions and low quality. Others noted that the restaurant has shifted focus to more of a bar atmosphere with less impressive food options than before. However, despite these negative changes, there are still positive experiences to be had at Sable. Many customers praised the attentive and knowledgeable service, as well as the extensive cocktail menu. The ambiance was also highlighted as a positive aspect of the restaurant, making it a great spot for drinks and small plates. Overall, while Sable may not be as successful as it once was in terms of food quality, the excellent service and atmosphere make it a worthwhile visit for those looking for a great cocktail experience.

Was Elta Miller at Sable Kitchen & Bar a mag?
The staff at Sable Kitchen Bar were highly professional. This was my first time having brunch and I absolutely loved it! I will definitely be returning. The pigs in a blanket were a highlight and a must-try. We ordered the Filipino breakfast plate, chicken and waffles, orange juice, and mimosas. What Robert Lebsack dislikes about Sable Kitchen & Bar:
Wow this place used to be amazing. Now it is embarrassingly bad. Food not just bad, but down right awful. I'm not a complainer but this requires it. Cheese platter had the 3 smallest, thinnest pieces of cheese ever for $16. Charcuterie was almost as small and two the the items were inedible. Squash dish was a soggy over cooked mess. I've had better cheese balls from a fast food restaurant. I was embarrassed for the s... View all feedback.
We even requested a surprise birthday dessert, which they kindly provided despite desserts not being available yet. They sang happy birthday and presented a delightful brownie with hazelnut sauce and a candle. My friend was thrilled with the birthday surprise. The coffee and latte were also excellent. A big thank you to the Sable Kitchen Bar team, especially to Petros and Brand. We will be back with family and friends. Keep up the great work!
My man that I ate on the other night has upset us thoroughly. our waiter, manny, went beyond that I absolutely loved the riesling, the very tasty burger crispy pommes! recommend this picturesque cozy restaurant!
Very beautiful place. the staff was incredibly nice and friendly. we sat on the bar for cocktails. the cocktails were all clever, although they were not cheap, they earned their prizes, especially in this neighbourhood. very glad to have stopped here by chance. the location is generally beautiful, but the bar felt really comfortable compared to many of the other lively bars in the neighbourhood
Sable was our top 3 recommendations for everyone from or visited Chicago. Unfortunately after our last visit this weekend, we will not be back. The seating area of the restaurant in the back has only been secured for private events since then. The menu was split by two thirds and the quality was cruel. A $40 chicken dish was ridiculously browned and burned (see photo). For the first time I had brussell sprouts fried into a burned herb. Our server was apathetic and little to show attention. The main server was a bit better and went around tables to check people. We're not going back to Sable.
